If your event is at a park or marina, confirm with the operator whether outside units are allowed and where they can go.
Summer lake days run long and hot. People drink a lot of water, and plenty of other things. Plan generously, put units in some shade if possible, and add a handwash station if anyone is cooking or cleaning fish.
Tournaments and organized events
For a fishing tournament or a charity run, the crowd tends to show up early and all at once. A single unit with a long line at 5:30 a.m. is a bad start. Spread units near the launch or start line and near parking so people aren't walking back and forth.

For new subdivisions, the usual rules apply: keep the unit reachable, out of the way of deliveries, and on level ground. Weekly service is typical, with extra visits available during heavy weeks.
